Welcome to Hobbits Knob We are an extraordinary cat boarding facility designed exclusively for fussy cats, set on 9 peaceful acres at Chevallum, central to the Sunshine Coast.
Luxury Accommodation Each suite is furnished with pictures, chairs, bedding and cubby houses, which are completely cleaned between cats and very regularly changed and cleaned during your cat’s stay.
Our Calm Environment The facility is kept very calm and quiet in a serene environment where the cats feel less stressed. Piped music keeps them company all day as well as when the staff are away.
Family Accommodation Our Sanctuary Suites can house up to 3 cats from the same family, but larger families can have more than one room with the advantage of having access to the run together.
Individual Requirements We determine what each cat desires on an individual basis, whether it be hiding under a blanket, playing with rolled up paper or getting a back scratch and provide this care to ensure the cat’s usual behaviour is continued during their stay.
Health & Grooming All staff pride in grooming the cats according to their individual requirements whether it be cleaning their eyes and ears, a light hand brush, using a knot remover or bathing if requested. We monitor each cat separately to determine their overall health and wellbeing all day and communicate well between staff to ensure that each cat is looked after to the best of our ability.

Hobbits Knob Cat Retreat

Our purpose built, modern, luxurious building is designed to blend into the naturally stunning landscape surrounded by large native trees and tropical gardens. A bitumen driveway with direct ramp/wheelchair access from our car park leads you to reception, the cat shop and a tropical aquarium wall through which you can see our cat suites.

We are only 5 minutes off the West side of the Bruce Highway, near Forest Glen, Sunshine Coast. We are only 1 hour to the Brisbane airport, Brisbane city and Gympie.

We supply 4 levels of comfortable, secure accommodation to suit any budget as well as some great discounts for Seniors and locals.

We are the professionals in expert cat care - they're not just cats and this is not just a job to us, they are our passion!

  • NO eftpos or credit card facilities are available, we accept cash or cheque only

  • Please bring your cat in a secure carry box along with their annual vaccination certificate! We cannot make exceptions to this important point, so avoid disappointment.
