Mission Statement

We aim to provide a unique, prestigious cat boarding facility which promotes optimal health and well being to cats with peace of mind to owners by soaring above and beyond the standard expectations.

Owners

Hobbits Knob Cat Retreat is owned and operated by Tania and Ivan who reside on the property with their beautiful daughter Tiger-Lily and their crazy array of dogs and cats.

Tania has had a genuine passion for all creatures great and small, especially cats, from a very young age, therefore has worked as a Veterinary Nurse part time for 10 years, earning a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing along the way. Ivan has been a carpenter for 16 years and is planning to slow down his building business to spend more time with Tiger-Lily and fulfil his passion for flying planes.

After 6 hard years of developing specific skills and knowledge, researching world wide facts and figures, extensive planning and saving money, our dream of owning and working at our own cattery on our own beautiful property is finally becoming a reality.

We have two beautiful feline friends of our own, Taj and Samara, named after Tigers at Dreamworld. Taj is a 13 year old, white, domestic long hair, with a massive personality to match his massive tummy (actually it's not fat, it's hair). Samara is an 11 year old, Australian Mist with a very shy, timid personality. Together they are best buddies who hang out and have their crazy moments play fighting and chasing each other around the verandah.

Hobbits Knob Cat Retreat welcomed Laura to our team in February 2009. Laura has completed a Certificate III in Companion Animal Services through the Animal Industries Resource Centre. You will feel confident that Laura is undoubtedly very caring and knowledgeable towards all animals and will take very good care of all cats at Hobbits Knob.

Also on our team is Matilda and Lauren, our senior staff, and Mattia, Casey and Bianca, our junior staff. They all have a genuine passion for animals, especially cats and are available to help pamper your feline friends.

We are current members of the Association of Pet Boarding and Grooming.

Many thanks to our valuable clients for your wonderful support and many thanks to your beautiful cats for helping us make their stay at our retreat so enjoyable. I look forward to caring for them again in the future.
