Accomodation

Hobbits Knob Cat Retreat has been specifically designed to keep cats free from the harsh Australian climate, predators, parasites and vermin. The entire cat accommodation area is fully insulated, well ventilated and air conditioned with cooling for the summer and heating for the winter, with polished timber floors for that homely, relaxed ambience.

Since we encourage the community to keep their cats indoors, Hobbits Knob has uniquely been designed as an entirely indoors cattery with everything a cat desires and much more.

Each suite is walk in and provides solid partitioning between neighbours, raised sleeping quarters, plenty of exercise room and equipment and some suites can house up to 4 cats from the same family.

Sanctuary Suite

Views and alternate access to large indoor garden. 6 of these suites also have view to our magical marine aquarium. (only 10 available)

Indulgence Suite

Views to lush native forest backdrop from large, private window whilst basking on the window sill. (only 24 available)

Luxury Suite

With the same luxurious inclusions only smaller and with no window, suitable for up to 2 cats or the lazy, ageing cat or those with medical conditions

Expert Care

At Hobbits Knob you can expect to find caring and friendly staff and a qualified Veterinary Nurse with the ability to care for any special medical requirements of cats, from diet, administering prescribed medication and observation after surgery or accident, at no extra cost.

We have strict procedures for cleaning and sanitizing our facilities using natural, safe products. A premium cat diet (Hills Science Diet) caters to individual requirements as requested by the owner (adult, senior, light, hairball control, kitten, indoor cat, oral care and sensitive skin and stomach). Allowance is made for owners to supply prescription diets where necessary.

We also provide Veterinarian availability 24 hours a day with treatment sought by the client's preferred Vet or by the out of hours emergency Vet. A separate isolation/Veterinary room is designed to reduce incidence of contamination and disease spreading to other cats in the unfortunate case that a cat should become sick during their stay.

We are also confident in giving cats insulin injections, but unfortunately because this takes specialised care and attention, including injections out of normal working hours, we do charge a $5 per day injection fee.
